Like many, I've been there, done that, But through strength training and nutritional awareness I've made lifestyle changes that have proven successful. Genuine health or wellness is not just the absence of disease or infirmity, it is a state of positive well-being I. It is embodied in the theory of the unity of man/woman, the whole person, including physical, mental, spiritual and social – emotional dimensions of life. Our society is considered to be the nations most affluent, with very high standards of living. It is not, however, a lifestyle that is conducive to good health. Technology has produced automation, inactivity and stress; predisposing us to a number of degenerative or lifestyle related diseases. Through proper fitness programming, goal-setting, and a positive approach that incorporates physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual aspects, we have the potential to improve our quality of life.
